caring for your jewellery

All solid Tahuna Collective pieces are made from recycled precious metals. They are the original waterproof materials, so you can wear your jewellery in water and salt water without causing any damage to your piece.

For pieces with stones or beads, we recommend taking your jewellery off before moderate exercise or getting in the water. It is not advised to expose your jewellery to perfumes, chlorine or harsh chemicals regularly.

Silver and gold can tarnish naturally over time, however, this can easily be removed by gentle polishing or cleaning with warm soapy water. To prevent tarnishing, store jewellery not being worn in an airtight container, away from air and moisture.

More on Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is an alloy made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals, typically copper, which enhances its durability and strength. This composition prevents the silver from being too soft, making it ideal for long wearing jewellery.

More on Solid Gold

9ct yellow gold will be available soon! Pure 24ct gold is too soft for practical use, so alloying with other metals strengthens it. We do not make gold-filled or gold-plated items as we want your piece to live on for decades to come, without the gold fading or tarnishing.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR RING SIZE

We recommend checking you ring size before making your purchase, as exchanges are subject to availability. To check your ring size, you can do any of the following:

Measure an Existing Ring: If you have a ring that fits well, measure it by placing it flat on a ruler and checking the diameter at its widest point on the inside of the band. Example shown below:

Visit a Jeweller: For a precise measurement, visit a jeweller who can professionally determine your ring size. This option is especially useful if you’re unsure about measuring it yourself.

Use a Ring Sizer: Plastic Ring sizers can be used to measure your ring size yourself. Although currently not in stock here, they can be purchased online. This is a great option if you want to check multiple ring sizes. They will be in stock soon.
